This high expression of a sensitive lyrical, mythical and religious formed the material for the work that the philologist Elias Lönnrot compiled and he published in final form in 1849.

During several trips to remote and almost unknown by the voice of reciters he collected a vast amount of writing verses which immortalized in imparting to them an order unit and a grand narrative.

His work exercised a fundamental influence on the national identity of Finland to the historical recognition of the independence, while the contents of the magic and inspiration transcendent holy verses have raised the Kalevala sull'empireo of world literature, showing the West what the wisdom of an ancient Asian civilization euro is still alive and present.
